How to hold 100k+ troops in a city

ok, my earlier thread about the strategy for taking a town was great b/c of all the replys from people so thx all but i tried to pillage and got wiped out horribly. the reason-not enough troops! i need to noe how to hold 100k+ men in my city so i can actually send like 50k musket and 50k goons to sucesfully pillgae. i noe bout the farms cuz they all lvl 9. i have only 6 mills, 4 quarrys and mines and the rest farms and rotation of crops at lvl 7 but i need to hold more! like ive heard of people in the red constantly b/c they have so many but can u do it with out the red?

thats pretty much all i need to noe and how the heck to do it.

I was -5 mill in food for 2-3 weeks straight.

The way to do it; get your rotation of crops as high as you can, lvl 9... consider even using a blueprint for a lvl 10 so you will be able to upgrade your research to level 10. That's not it!

Your rurals... this can be a bit complicated and people do different things. What I do, is make everything farms. 1 quarry, 3 mills, 3 mines. Some only do 1 of each, some do 2 of each. I like 3 because I can still queue up a reasonable amount of troops. Also, your wilderness... get high lvl lakes. If you have a basic food production of, lets say, 100k an hour. 3 lvl 10 lakes will put you at 200k... 3 more, over 300k... Also keep your wilderness fresh, I even will take longer marches than usual just to take a lvl 9-10 lake.

ALSO... pillage for food. When I was 5 mill in the red for all that time, I was pillaging about 20-30 players a day. You're in server 2 so you know about supremacy. The alliance inviticus unitas hated it... I relocated the city that was so negative, to their country. I pillaged for food. Whiped out their armies, and when someone would try to counter me, I still won, and it left them wide open, so more food! When they started doing coordinated attacks on me, it didn't bother me much because I was so tired of dealing with the food situation, in a way I was happy. lol.

You're in a strong alliance on server 2... if the issue is food there, make sure you take advantage of your alliance!! That's what they are there for, have them send you a shipment of food once or twice a day.

Would that lvl 10 tech be good for any other farm than the lvl 10 farm(s)?

I don't think so. But at this point everybody should be having towns or about to go for some, and with the upgraded levels of rurals, it will definitely help!

The only good that came from that was I got to join Supremacy.
